International Conference for researchers, museum workers and specialists of restoration workshops
On May 15−18, 2019 the "Art of Restoration" international conference took place at Hermitage Restoration and Storage Center. The goals of the seminar were to discuss the importance of the research in the restoration, to knew new and traditional technologies in the restoration works and to share the experience between museums and scientific institutions.
Research and development of new technologies for restoration works:
3D modeling, microplasma, laser processing and welding
Applications of basic sciences methods in restoration: microscopy,
X-ray imaging and analysis, chromatography, spectroscopy

The conference program included nine sessions with speeches from restoration specialists and excursions in the Hermitage laboratories.

Art of Restoration international conference was first held in St. Petersburg in 2017. It was attended by 160 experts from Russia, England, Germany, the Netherlands, France, USA, Turkey and South Korea.

Location
The conference was held at the Staraya Derevnya Hermitage Restoration and Storage Center. There were the collections of Western European Fine and Applied Arts departments; Russian culture history; the East Department, Department of Eastern Europe and Siberia Archeology.

Conference participants took part in a guided tour of the open storage route and see a costume gallery, furniture storage of the 16th — 19th centuries, a carriage hall, an exhibition of trellis, frescoes, painting and sculpture.

  • The abstract text must not exceed one A4 format page. It should contain maximum half a page of the text description. The second half of the page may be devoted to references and picture(s)/graphical materials.
  • Margins: top & bottom – 2 cm, left – 3 cm, right – 1.5 cm
  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Header: bold, font size 14, all capital letters, alignment: left
  • Text: plain, font size 12, alignment: justify, linespacing: single
  • Picture caption text: plain, font size 12
  • Links to authors: plain, font size 14, separated with comas, alignment: left. Must be indexed with superscript arabic digits
  • Authors affiliation: font size 12, italic, alignment: left.
  • References in text should be denoted as numbers in square brackets and listed in the same manner after the abstract main text.
